USC Women’s Basketball Team Manager:

Working with The USC Women’s Basketball team is a one-of-a-kind experience. You’ll get to work behind the scenes of practices, and games, work alongside the support staff and be part of an elite Division 1 program. Working with the Women’s Basketball team as a student manager is a time commitment. Some games, both home and away, and practices, require working on some weekends and some holidays. However, our Team Manager position presents a fun and exciting opportunity to combine your leadership and managerial skills with your athletic ability or love for basketball.

As Team Manager of USC Women’s Basketball, you will strengthen, yet challenge, your skills in several areas you will be responsible for. For example, you will be responsible for the on-court well-being of our players, from practices to warmups, and games, along with all practice and game-day activations. Your typical practice day will include setting up the court, passing/rebounding during drills, and running the clock. You’ll also be working with our Athletic Trainer to help set up player water bottles and the water cart. You will wear many hats!

Enjoy the game of basketball? Even better. Often, when short on practice players, coaches will use team managers to hop in drills with our players. For instance, a coach might want to use you to set screens for players, or even guard the ball in a five-on-five setting. Even if you have no history of playing basketball, we will always find a place for you on the court!

Love to travel? With our PAC-12 conference traveling beyond Los Angeles, this role gives plenty of opportunities for you to travel along with us to away games. Travel opportunities allow you Team Managers to strengthen their time management, adaptability, and their abilities to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment, all while being in a different state. 

As a Team Manager myself, managing these different responsibilities allows me to get to know the ins and outs of working with a Division 1 basketball team, and the sports industry overall. I develop a lot of interpersonal, versatility, and leadership skills while holding this position within the program, all while being around a sport I love.
